Using the camera app on our iPads

This week in Ruaumoko we had Amie visit for more Cybersmart learning.  We have been learning about how to look after our iPads.

Before we got started, we checked our blog to see if anyone had visited.  We didn't have any new comments.  We visited our buddy blogs next and saw that Papatūānuku hub had replied to us.  They are excited about seeing our seed drawings and asked us to tell them more about our Ruaumoko class name.  It was fun replying to our blogging buddies.  We are enjoying getting to know them.

Next we started our iPad learning for the week.  We are learning about how to use the camera icon to take photos on our iPad.  We had to carefully take just one photo of something yellow.  If it was blurry, we had to delete it and try again.  We rested our iPad against our knees and waited for the yellow square to show that our yellow teddy was in focus before tapping the shutter button.  We had to remember to just TAP and not PRESS or we got lots of pictures.  We only wanted to take one.

Later, we found more yellow things to take photos of.  We got very good at taking photos and deleting the ones we didn't need.

When we carried our iPads, we remembered to practice Hugging and Holding them.

We took photos of just 1 yellow teddy
We held our iPads steady
We rested them on our knees

What do you like taking photos of?

  3. I like the idea of finding a certain colour of things around the room and taking a picture of them using your iPad. What were some of the yellow things that you found? We have bananas, lego and even chairs that are yellow in our studio! Thank you for sharing the 'tap' instead of 'press' idea when taking a photo. Maybe next time we are using the camera on the iPad we can remember your ideas to help only take one photo at a time. Thank you for sharing, next time maybe you could take photos of things that are purple!

  4. Hi Papatuanuku team , Thankyou for your email. WE took photos of yellow wheels from the duplo, yellow teddy bears and other yellow toys. We also found yellow dinosaurs and bananas just like you . We are going outside with our iPads to find some nectar in the flowers. We will look for some purple flowers for you. Mrs Loudon and Ruaumoko kids hope you are looking after each other.
